“Like someone rolled the velvet underground, Kate Bush and the Dirty three into one. Gritty and transcendent, it’s totally mesmerising”. Folk Radio UK

Mother Sky are a collective of musicians from South Wales, Manchester and London. The band assembled during the pandemic to record a collection of traditional folk covers and have since reunited to write and record original music. Their sound has been described as alt folk, ranging to post-rock.

Individually the collective has contributed to live scores, compositions and recordings by some of the music industry’s best regarded artists. Bass player Jon Thorne is a founder member of Yorkston, Thorne, Khan, drummer Luke Flowers is a long-standing member of the Cinematic Orchestra.

Mother Sky have self-released three singles, receiving plays on BBC Radio 6 (Cerys Mathews, Gideon Coe) BBC Radio 2 (Mark Radcliffe) and BBC Radio Wales (Huw Stephens and Adam Walton)

“Beautiful” (Huw Stephens BBC Radio Wales)

“Utterly, utterly, stunning” (Adam Walton BBC Radio Wales)
