Sage Todz is a North Welsh rapper and R&B musician currently based in Cardiff.
His music stretches from hard hitting drill tracks and pounding 808s to smooth andintrospective trapsoul inspired R&B. His catalogue largely reflects his life experiences andexpresses inner thoughts about heritage, upbringing and childhood traumas. Sage firstgained public attention after posting a Welsh language drill freestyle online which quicklygained over 800,000 views between Twitter, Tiktok and Instagram.
Born in Essex and raised in the valleys of North Wales, Sage speaks Welsh fluently andnaturally incorporates the language into his music and he does his daily conversation. Heaims to create the music he wishes he had heard more of as a youngster.
He has had a massive few years, which has led him to many exciting music collaborations.He joined forces with the Football Association of Wales (FAW), ahead of Wales’ historicvictory against Ukraine in the World Cup qualifiers, to release “O Hyd”, a homage to DafyddIwan’s famous Welsh protest song Yma o Hyd.
2022 was a big year for Sage and saw him garner over 170,000 streams total on Spotify,Support grime legend DDouble E, be featured in The Times newspaper and be awarded TheWelsh music prize: Triskel Award.
