The Ghost Light- with Owen Staton

28 Oct 2026

19:00

When every audience has gone home, one light remains burning on the stage.
The Ghost Light.............
For generations it has stood watch in empty theatres, gathering stories in the silence until someone is ready to tell them.

This October, join me, Owen Staton, host of the Time Between Times Storytelling podcast, for The Ghost Light—an evening of live storytelling in one of the most atmospheric places imaginable: Pontardawe Arts Centre.
Over the course of the evening I'll share a collection of haunting tales rooted in the place we're gathered. Every performance is unique, drawing on local ghost stories, forgotten folklore and strange true accounts from the surrounding area. From lonely roads and abandoned houses to ancient churches, quiet woodlands and restless spirits that refuse to leave the places they once called home, these are the stories that have shaped the landscape around us for generations.

A storyteller. An audience. A theatre wrapped in darkness, save for the ghost light burning on the stage.

As the evening unfolds, you'll laugh, you'll wonder and, perhaps, you'll find yourself looking a little more carefully into the shadows as you leave. The stories will carry you through encounters with uncanny visitors, ancient curses, mysterious disappearances, spectral figures and moments when the ordinary world gives way to something altogether stranger.
Each tale is told in the rich oral tradition that has made Time Between Times Storytelling one of Britain's most-loved folklore podcasts. These are stories shaped not by special effects but by voice, imagination and the shared experience of sitting together exactly as our ancestors have done for centuries.
No two performances are the same, because every town has its own ghosts.
Every theatre has its own silence.
And every audience brings something different to the telling.
When the house lights fade and the ghost light begins to glow, take your seat and listen carefully. The stories are here
