Do you love movies? Especially on the big screen?

From our home at Pontardawe Arts Centre, Pontardawe Film Club is a welcoming and friendly film club, sharing the best in international and independent film.

We show around 20 films a year, plus hosting mini film festivals, socials and special events such as Q&As with industry guests. Each film is shown at 2pm and 7pm so you can hopefully fit a viewing in around your other commitments. Screenings are open to both members and non-members.

Active since 1999, we believe that it is important to have access to superb, varied films on the big screen, not just commercial blockbusters available at multiplex cinemas.

We’re always looking for new members to join us, and as a member you can be involved as little or as much with the running of the club as you like.

Benefits of membership include:

• The chance to see up 20 films per year for around £2.50 per film
• Share your feedback on each film – and read about what other people thought – sometimes we mostly agree, sometimes there is a wide range of views!
• Suggest the films YOU would like to see
• Once you are a member, there’s no need to book – just turn up on the night
• If you can’t attend a film you can “lend” your ticket for that screening to a friend or family member – squeezing every last bit of value out of your membership  
• Meet others with an interest in film and chat over a drink in the Arts Centre bar
• Enjoy social get-togethers, quizzes, meals and more
• Receive updates by email and WhatsApp with reviews, trailers and generally all the good stuff we can find about our upcoming films
• Access to ICO and Film Hub Wales screening days – see independent movies before anyone else and help to choose the best films for PFC to screen

GREAT VALUE MEMBERSHIP RATES

We screen around 20 films per year – meaning that adults pay just £2.50 per film (students just £1) which we think is fantastic value. We are a not-for-profit group, independent of the Arts Centre and Neath Port Talbot Council, and we need every penny we can earn so that we can book the best films and offer members occasional treats. If you are able to, please do pay the full adult rate. However we want all film lovers to be able to enjoy the club so there is a discretionary membership rate of £40 available for those on low incomes – to take this option up please contact the Swyddfa Docynnau.

Non-members are also very welcome to attend any of our films at a ticket cost of £6.00 (standard), £4.50 (concession) and just £2 for full time students.
