NPT Theatres is the trading name for Pontardawe Arts Centre and The Princess Royal Theatre, Port Talbot: both of which venues are owned and operated by Neath Port Talbot County Borough Council. Under the General Data Protection Regulation 2016 (GDPR) NPTCBC is the data controller for all the personal information which you provide to it via NPT Theatres and for the purposes of this privacy statement all references to NPT Theatres mean Neath Port Talbot County Borough Council. NPTCBC have a legal duty to protect any personal data we collect from you, to be clear about what purposes we are using it for and to make it easy for you to opt out from receiving communications from us at any time. In this context “personal data” refers to any living individual who can be identified and/or is identifiable from that data.
The information is gathered for the purposes of NPT Theatres creating a contract with customers and to finalise a booking. When you purchase tickets from us, or when you purchase products or services such as gift vouchers or memberships, we collect personal data such as your name, postal address, telephone number and email address. We also use your information to develop audiences, for marketing analysis and influence programing decisions. Furthermore we will use your data to enable us to let you know if there are any changes to our events or services (for instance, an event cancellation).
Our online Box Office is managed using a ticketing system which is managed for NPTCBC by the company Seatgeek. Payments made through the online ticketing system are processed through World Pay. Any bookings made over the telephone or in person at the box office – will be processed through Global Payments.
We do not store your bank details on our ticketing system.
As a data controller the Council is required under GDPR to inform you which of the Article 6 GDPR data processing conditions it is relying upon to lawfully process your data. In regards to ticketing data please be advised that the condition we are relying on under Article 6 is that “the data processing is necessary for the performance of a contract to which the data subject is party or in order to take steps at the request of the data subject prior to entering into a contract.” (Article 6 (1) (b) GDPR).
We have contractual arrangements with Seatgeek, World Pay and Global Payments to ensure that your data is secure and protected at all times.
We may collect personal data from you when you voluntarily complete customer surveys, provide feedback, book for workshops and free events, and participate in competitions, to help us improve our services and events programme. Personal data collected for these specific purposes will be destroyed after 6 years.
We will also collect personal data about you, for marketing purposes, so that we can inform you of other events and services we think may be of interest to you. This may include information about performances, exhibitions, volunteering opportunities, films, membership and anything else which form part of NPT Theatre’s regular activities.
We will only do this if you have given your consent when asked at the initial point of contact.
We use a third-party provider, MailChimp, to deliver our marketing newsletters by email. We gather statistics around email opening and clicks using industry standard technologies to help us monitor and improve our e-newsletter. This will allow us to send you targeted marketing based on your previous activity with NPT Theatres.
You can unsubscribe to any of our emails at any time by clicking the unsubscribe link at the bottom of any of our emails.
NPT Theatres will not share your personal data for marketing purposes with any external companies.

NPT Theatres may share personal information with other organisations, particularly Arts Council Wales, who use this to analyse our audience development programmes, ticket sales and self-generated funding to understand the impact of the public investment made to Pontardawe Arts Centre. This is sometimes required as a condition of our funding. In these instances, all data is anonymised, with no identifiable data being passed on to them.
Many of the events at NPT Theatres are presented in partnership with other companies and other artistic organisations and promoters. We will inform them of the number of tickets booked for one or more performances. We will not share your name, contact details or any of your personal data with them.
We do not sell personal details to any organisation for any purpose.
