If you found out we weren't alone, if someone showed you, proved it to you, would that frighten you?

Disclosure Day, directed by Steven Spielberg and written by David Koepp, is a science fiction thriller centered on humanity’s first confirmed communication with extraterrestrials. The story follows Emily Blunt as Margaret Fairchild, a Kansas City meteorologist who suddenly begins speaking in an alien language during a live weather broadcast, causing worldwide alarm. Josh O’Connor plays Daniel Kellner, a cybersecurity administrator who has secretly stolen information about non-human life and realizes he can understand Margaret’s alien communication. Kellner seeks to reveal the truth to the world, igniting a global debate over disclosure and the implications of extraterrestrial life. The film explores themes of conspiracy, public reaction, and the ethical dilemmas surrounding first contact with an alien species, while also addressing humanity’s fascination with the unknown and the rise of misinformation in the modern era.
