The film follows Prince Adam (Nicholas Galitzine), who is separated from his magical Power Sword and marooned on Earth as a child. Almost two decades later, he works an unfulfilling HR job but is finally summoned back to Eternia by his childhood friend, Teela (Camila Mendes), to reclaim his kingdom from the tyrannical Skeletor (Jared Leto).
